You probably already have two out of the three ingredients needed for these fire starter cubes!

homemade fire starter cubes using dryer lint, paraffin wax, and cardboard egg carton

If you enjoy spending time outdoors by the fire, you're going to love these super easy, chemical free, very effective fire starter cubes.

No more purchasing expensive fire kindling and fire starters with questionable ingredients.

Simply make fire starter in just a few minutes in your own home. Save some cardboard egg cartons and dryer lint, add a little paraffin wax, and you'll be sitting by the fire in no time!

Again, these fire starter cubers really are easy and effective. Just throw one or two in your fire pit, light, and it will get the fire going.

Whether you go camping in the woods or you're sitting in your backyard, these are great to have around.

The Recipe: Fire Starter Cubes

Yield: 12 cubes 10 minutes

Ingredients

1 cardboard egg carton

4-5 cups of dryer lint

paraffin wax

Instructions

  1. Pack dryer lint into each egg carton cube.

  2. Melt paraffin wax over low heat on the stove. Slowly pour over lint into each egg carton cube. The lint will shrink, so you may need to add more after pouring wax. Simply pack more lint into the cubes that need it.

  3. Let cool.

  4. When you need a fire starter cube, tear one or two and throw into your fire pit. Light cube on fire and it will kindle and start your fire.

Notes: I prefer to keep each of the cubes connected and tear each piece off as I need it. We love using these to start a fire!
